Functional Neurological Disorder Physiotherapy - Online FND Treatment Pathway

Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) describes neurological symptoms which are caused by a problem with the functioning of the nervous system.  FND occurs when the brain's normal functioning is disrupted, causing difficulty sending and receiving messages. This can lead to a range of symptoms including paralysis, tremors, gait issues, non-epileptic seizures, or speech difficulties.

FND is caused by a complex interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors. Treatment for FND has evolved and recent studies have demonstrated that FND specific physiotherapy can help to improve symptoms. One of the most important parts of treatment is supporting the client to understand what FND is, what factors may influence their FND symptoms and learning key skills for retraining movement patterns.
